WHAT MIND DO YOU HAVE?
“For who has known the mind and purposes of the Lord, so as to instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ [to be guided by His thoughts and purposes].”
1 Corinthians 2:16 AMP
GOOD DAY: I keep wondering how to connect with God and know when He is talking to me. Sometimes, you get to the point where you want to know God’s mind on specific issues like should I rent a particular house or not? How do I connect with God? From today’s scripture for meditation, God has a mind. The mind is unseen. Man too has a mind which is also unseen. Connecting with God therefore will be a mind to mind affair. For you to connect with God, you need to have the mind of Christ. The mind is the house of thoughts and purposes. Knowing your mind then is as simple as watching and knowing the thoughts and purposes that are in you. First, what thoughts come to your heart in the morning? Since I became conscious of my mind stuff, I started taking note of the thoughts that I wake up with and the thoughts that my mind stays on when I am not engaged in any secular job or interests.
Long ago when I started, I discovered that I woke up with any of the reigning music of the time and when I am not engaged in secular activities, my thoughts tarried on people who offended me and money and other cares of my world. There was nothing about God in my mind at all except when it was time for religious activities. I also noticed that the things in my mind directed my response to any decision I had to make. I also had all sorts of funny dreams in my sleep to the extent that sometimes I carried a fight in the dream to real life. Now that I keep scriptures or just praise songs in my mind, I find that my mind is more in tune with the mind of Christ. I sleep easy and dream meaningful dreams. I have peace deep inside me even when things are not working as I wish it should be.
The things in your mind are also known by the fruit that you bear and the words that you speak.
“People are known in this same way. Out of the virtue stored in their hearts, good and upright people will produce good fruit. Likewise, out of the evil hidden in their hearts, evil ones will produce what is evil. For the overflow of what has been stored in your heart will be seen by your fruit and will be heard in your words.” Luke 6:45 TPT.
The fruit others tell you that you bear will also point you to what fills your mind. If you and I see to it that we align our minds with the mind of Christ, the world will be a better place to live in.
PRAY: Dear Lord, open my eyes to see the treasure I keep in my mind. Help me to do away with those thoughts that don’t agree with You.
