your epistle

YOUR    EPISTLE

“As a result of our ministry, you are living letters written by Christ, not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God—not carved onto stone tablets but on the tablets of tender hearts.” 2 Corinthians 3:3 TPT

GOOD DAY: I love the kind of stocktaking that Apostle Paul used to do. He checked the kind of epistle or letter that his teaching produced in his listeners’ hearts and the kind of epistle that his converts produce for outsiders to read. Each believer is a living epistle of Jesus Christ that people read. There are people who may never open the pages of the Bible but all they will ever read is the gospel of Jesus Christ written in your heart manifesting through your life.

As a teacher or shepherd of the flock under you, you should ask yourself about the epistle that your teaching writes in the hearts of your flock. There are too many professed Christians around but so many bad epistles that confuse the hearts of onlookers if they are truly of Christ. The trend now is that men of God go on television and social media to contradict each other over their teachings. I don’t know how you feel when pastors are made the objects of mockery on social media. It is time to judge ourselves vis a vis the epistle that our personal lives preach. Apostle Paul was able to do that and affirm the epistle that his life preached and the epistle that his teaching wrote in the hearts of the people. Epistles are written in the heart and they are experienced in either of two ways expressed thus:

“The actions that are produced by selfish motives are obvious, since they include sexual immorality, moral corruption, doing whatever feels good, idolatry, drug use and casting spells, hate, fighting, obsession, losing your temper, competitive opposition, conflict, selfishness, group rivalry, jealousy, drunkenness, partying, and other things like that. I warn you as I have already warned you, that those who do these kinds of things won’t inherit God’s kingdom.” Galatians 5:19-21 CEB

OR “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against things like this. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the self with its passions and its desires.” Galatians 5:22-24 CEB. What epistle are you?

PRAY: Dear Lord Jesus, teach me to learn of You and bear the fruit that You would bear if You were here on earth now. Open my mind to see what people read I me as we interact.
