YOUR UNSEEN IS YOUR REALITY 1

“What I feared has come upon me; what I dreaded has happened to me.” Job 3:25 NIV

GOOD DAY: I really don’t know which one to discuss first either the positive or the negative. I am starting with the negative since human nature is more attuned to that. When I appreciated the negative side, I was able to apply the positive no matter what nature says.

Job was a righteous and prosperous man in his time. You can read Job ch 1-3. In the natural realm, he was really blessed. Everyone sought his favor. When he spoke, they all listened and that sorted the matter. He esteemed God and was constantly atoning for the sins of his children in case they sinned against God. Who then would know that Job had secret fears in his heart? He was afraid of losing everything. He had a secret fear of evil. His spiritual reality was that evil would happen to him while his natural reality was a very good and enviable life all around! Eventually, his spiritual reality became his natural reality. He lost everything that was motivating him to serve God. Don’t we all have man Job within us? We are lured to Christ with sweet promises. A woman once said she converted to Christianity so that her husband won’t marry a second wife. She brought the husband to Christ but that did not stop the husband from getting two other wives. She was disappointed with Christianity but she is still staying on for the peace she enjoys in Christ.

Do a soul search. What is your spiritual reality? What do you guard jealously for fear of losing it? It could be your wealth, money, health, job, marriage etc.; what is it? Chances are that you will go through a lack of it at an appointed time so that you will be able to make God your spiritual reality and not fear. Learn to let go and live freely for Jesus. Trust that He will guard that which you have committed to Him. I have experienced the effect of Job’s reasoning and learnt to let go and just serve God for who He is and not for what He can or cannot give. Ever since then, I have experienced a rest and peace that I cannot explain. I trust Him to do only that which is good for His thoughts towards me are thoughts of good and not evil. Tomorrow, we shall consider the positive spiritual reality and how to walk in it.

PRAY: O Lord Jesus, help my faith in and love for You to be unconditional. You are my sufficiency in all things.
