YOUR UNSEEN IS YOUR REALITY 2

BLESSED ALREADY

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.” Ephesians 1:3 NIV

GOOD DAY: Yesterday, we saw how Job’s fear played out as his reality until God led him to a point of repentance and restoration. Today, we will consider Abraham who was blessed except in one thing and see how he lived above fear of loss of anything he had. Even when God finally blessed him with children, he was not afraid to let Ishmael go and was going to sacrifice Isaac when God asked for him. Let us see how he lived without fear in his unseen reality.

Although there was no Ephesians 1:3 written then, Abraham had encounters with God and knew Him as it was possible in his time. He was convinced that all blessings came from God, children included. For Abraham, that God did not bless him with children did not diminish his reverence for God. His lifestyle was that of giving glory to God: “Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.” Romans 4:20-21 NIV

For us who believe, Apostle Peter puts it further that: “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” 2 Peter 1:3 NIV

You are blessed with everything that is good for you to live a godly life to the glory of God so there is no reason worrying or struggling spiritually to keep what He has given. Yours is to know Him and live to please Him. You are to rejoice in what He has promised to give in His word. Unlike Job who worshiped with morbid fear, you are to worship with JOY in your heart. You are to rejoice and be thankful for His promises and His gifts of the blessings and serve Him with gladness knowing that His gifts to you are irrevocable (“for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” Romans 11:3 NASB)

Tomorrow, we shall take life examples that we can relate with to help us keep our peace in these times. Read 2 Peter 1:3-9 and think about it. Keeping the promises of God as your unseen reality will make it play out as your visible reality eventually.

PRAY: Dear Lord, thank You for Your great promises that make me a partaker of Your divine nature. Help me to read and understand Your promises that I may know You and serve You better in Jesus name.
